Overall this is a great place to eat. Food is good n the prices are even better. Watch out if you order lunch specials n they have them for dinner. Several employees ring you up for the dinner prices instead of lunch

Phenomenal. I got the speedy gonzalez. I requested their mole sauce for my enchilada, and hands down some of the best mole sauce. Super happy with all of the food. The prices were also great!! Definitely recommend.

Driving home from Florida we stayed in Lumberton and looked for a Mexican Restaurant. There were a few close to our motel. We drove to one and walked inside and it just didn’t feel good. So we ended up at El Rio Grande. A friend met us there for dinner. It’s in a strip mall so it has lots of parking but no aesthetics. The food was good with a large selection to pick from. It seems to have a good local following. There was one group of about 20 people sitting at a long table. The service was great. The server came over many times to check if we needed anything. While they had an alright selection of tequila they didn’t have any bubbly water (Topo Chico, Pelegrina) so we asked if we could bring some in to mix our own drinks. We ordered four shots of Casamigos Tequila and asked for 3 glasses with ice and some lime. We made ranch waters (muddled lime, tequila, Topo Chico) at our table. It turned out to be a good meal.

This weekend we decided to stay in town and try something new. This in fact may be our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Lumberton. I ordered the pollo loco and my partner ordered the Texas fajitas. We also ordered cheese dip. The service was great from start to finish. The squash, zucchini, and broccoli in the pollo loco was cooked perfectly. Everything was hot and tasted fresh. We will definitely return and maybe next time try something from the bar.

Driving back up to Virginia we were looking for a good place to stop for my kids and I was so impressed with everything the decorations the cozy energy extremely friendly staff even though they were busy and were big party they quickly sat us and we chips and salsa. The test for me is good salsa rice and beans and per my kids they wished they could eat more. My enchiladas suizas were amazing my husband's camarones a la diabla were just perfect.bthis will my go to stop when driving down to the Carolinas and Georgia.
